1 beat per 5 second will be heard.

Solution:

The two tuning forks sounded together with their respective frequencies produce the following number of beats –

Given: Frequency f_{1} = 250 Hz

             Frequency f_{2}  = 255 Hz

As the beat frequency is difference in frequency of waves, the formula is given by

              Beat frequency = f_{2}-f_{1}  = 255 -250 = 5 Hz

Number of beats in 5 sec = \bold{\frac{\text {Beat frequency}}{\text {time}}}

Number of beats = \frac{5}{5}

Number of beat = 1

Answer:

Beat frequency=It is the number of beats produced per second.

It is numerically equal to the difference between the frequencies of the superimposing waves

So beat produced in one second =255-250=5hz

beat produced in 5 second =5×5 =25hz
