The galvanised article is protected against rust even if the the zinc coating is broken. Explain why.

Galvanising is a method of protecting iron from rusting by coating it with zinc. The article remains protected against rust as the layer gets deposited permanently on iron. Just its coating comes off.

Zinc is more reactive than Iron so Zinc will react with oxygen and get oxidised. Since Iron is less reactive than Zinc, it won't react with oxygen so it will be protected from rusting.
