The game of cricket can be traced to rural England because of following reasons:
(i) It was played by farmers in rural England to spend their leisure time and had no limit of time. And so today also it is played for long duration.
(ii) It's equipment are yet made up of preindustrial materials as it was started in pre-industrial time. Eg: Bat is yet made up of wood.
(iii) Unlike other games, cricket don't have any definite shape and size of ground as it was played in fields of rural England. Only size of pitch is fixed-22 yards.
