For air borne disease you need to use N-95 mask to prevent catching the disease if you are near any individual affected with any air borne disease.
Some diseases like tuberculosis, polio etc. can be prevented by vaccines.
Some diseases like HIV/AIDS can be prevented taking proper protective measures.
Some diseases like cholera and typhoid can be prevented taking clean and proper food and water without contamination.
