The Planning Commission was replaced by NITI Aayog with the objective of achieving overall sustainable growth. It came into force in 2015.
The first meeting of NITI Aayog was held on 8th February 2015 which was presided by The Prime Minister of India Sri Narendra Modi .
The main objective of the NITI Aayog was to enhance active cooperation and involvement by the State Government of India in economic policies of the country.
