Chlorofluorocarbons or CFC’s present in aerosols and refrigerants are highly toxic chemical compounds and are responsible for ozone depletion. They are non - biodegradable and stay in the atmosphere. Since they are highly reactive in nature they react with ozone and break it into oxygen molecules

- Control over their emission will lead to following benefits
It will prevent ozone depletion. The phenomenon like Antarctica hole can be avoided.
- It will help in controlling global temperature as fewer UV rays will reach the surface of the earth

The prohibition of chlorofluorocarbons will help in sustainability of the environment as it will prevent the depletion of the 'ozone layer'. This will also help in controlling the temperature on the surface of the earth as the ozone layer will be able to prevent the UV rays from reaching the earth.

EXPLANATION:

CFCs used in aerosol sprays and refrigerants are toxic compounds that cause the depletion of 'the ozone layer'. These compounds are non-biodegradable and remain in the atmosphere. These are also highly reactive and react with ozone to break it into oxygen molecules thereby causing it to deplete.
