Given : The grade 6 art class of Ms. Jules had a watercolor painting activity. She divided her class into 5 groups with 7 members each.

Every member of a group used 3 4/5 tubes of watercolor to cover his/her part in the painting.

To Find : How many tubes of watercolor did each group consume

Solution:

Every member of a group used  = 3 4/5

= 19/5  tubes of watercolor

Number of members in a group = 7

tubes of watercolor  each group consume  = (19/5) * 7

=> tubes of watercolor  each group consume  = (133/5)

=> tubes of watercolor  each group consume  = 26 3/5

All groups combined use = (133/5) * 5 = 133 tubes
