 Given \: Linear \: equation \:in \:two \\variables \: x \: and \:y : \\ x + 3y = 2

 Convert \: given \: equation \: into \\two \: intercepts \:form :

 \boxed { \frac{x}{\blue{a}} + \frac{y}{\pink{y}} = 1 }

 Where , \blue {a} = x - intercept \: and \\\pink{b} = y - intercept

/* Dividing each term by 2, we get */

 \frac{x}{2} + \frac{3y}{2}= \frac{2}{2}

\implies  \frac{x}{2} + \frac{y}{\frac{2}{3}}= 1

Therefore.,

 Graph \: of \: linear \: equation \: x + 3y = 2 \\cuts \: x - axis \: at \: ( 2 , 0 ) \: and \: y - axis \:at \\( 0, \frac{2}{3} )
