Question:-

The graph of the polynomial p(x) = 3x² - 2x + 5, intersects the x-axis at how many points?

Answer:-

↦ 3x² - 2x + 5

↦ 3x² + 3x - 5x + 5

↦ 3x (x + 1) - 5 (x + 1)

(x + 1) (3x - 5)

Now considering,

→ (x + 1) = 0

→ x = 0 - 1

x = -1

→ (3x - 5) = 0

→ 3x = 0 + 5

→ 3x = 5

x = 5/3

∴ X - Axis intersects at points (0,-1) and (0,5/3).
