the poet is in a state of bliss and enjoying this scenery of nature in either his or his friend's garden. the poet probably also refers to spring time as he at first tells us that the grass gets soft and green. than he tells us that forsythia bushes are unfolding i. e. they are growing anew, and in the last line of the stanza he tells us that those bushes are unfolding like fairy gold, which could either be its natural color or as a result of the sunlight on a sunny day. but anyways i think the poet mainly wanted to express the beauty of springtime.
