Gravitational field intensity = gradient of Gravitational potential = dV/dr

The gravitational potential gradient dV/dr is defined as the rate of change of gravitational potential with distance in the field. This is equal to the gravitational field intensity U at that point.

dV = U dr = 4.8 x 10,000,000 = 4.8 x 107 J / kg
