'F' is the force of attraction

'G' is the universal gravitational constant

'M' and 'm' are the masses and 'd' is the distance of separation between them.

If masses are doubled, then the total mass will be (4 × Mm).

If the distance is doubled then d = 2d

⇒ F = G × (4 × Mm) / (2d)²

      = 4GMm / 4d²

∴ F = G Mm / d²

So even if the masses are doubled the force remains the same by doubling the distance between the objects.
