Answer:

F = 5N

Explanation:

Given:

Gravitational force, F = 20N

Distance between the two bodies, r = X

To find:

Gravitational force when distance between two bodies is 2X.

We have,

F = G \frac{m_{1}m_{1}  }{r^{2} }

   where, G is the gravitational constant (6.674 × 10⁻¹¹ m³kg⁻¹s⁻²)

                m₁ and m₂ are the masses of the two bodies

                r is the distance between the centers of the two bodies

A/Q,

20 = 6.674×10⁻¹¹ m₁ m₂/X²

⇒m₁ m₂ = 20 × X²/6.674 × 10⁻¹¹

m₁ m₂ = 2.99 ×10¹¹ ×X²

Now, putting r = 2X, we get,

F = 6.674 ×10⁻¹¹× 2.99 ×10¹¹ × X²/(2X)²  (∵ mass is constant)

F = 4.99 ≈ 5

∴ gravitational force when distance between the two bodies is 2X, is, 5N
