The Great Pyramid of Cheops is 140m high, and the sides of its square base are of length 229m.
(Where the apex is directly above the centre of the base) Solve what is the slant height

For cone

h = 140 m

For base

side = 229 m

so half the side = 229 /2 ............... (for radius)

Therefore

For slant height 'l'

l² = r² + h²
l² =( 229 /2)² +( 140 )²
l² = 52441/4 + 19600
l² = 52441 + 78400 / 4
l² = 130841 / 4
l² = 32710.25
l = 180.85 m

Therefore slant height is 180.85 m .
