Answer:

The Taj Mahal and the Great Wall of China, in my opinion, were built by autocratic rulers.

Explanation:

  • Power remains in the hands of a single individual in an autocracy. The autocratic political system is characterized by fear and control. Absolute monarchs and military dictators have historically served as examples of autocracy.
  • The fact that serious decisions are swiftly made when immediate and certain action is required is the primary advantage of autocracy. Most of the time, autocratic leaders make decisions based on their ideas and judgments, and they rarely listen to what their followers have to say.
  • The purpose of building the Great Wall of China was to defend China's northern empire from outside threats. There are a total of 19 walls. In the 7th century BC, the first wall was constructed.
  • Individual efforts would not be sufficient to construct the Great Wall of China. Autocratic rulers forced individuals to take on such projects as a form of retribution.
  • It is mentioned that everyone in the empire must share responsibility. Others were required to contact a person who did not behave by the rules. They were either beheaded or dismembered if they did not.
  • The Great Wall of China, the Grand Canal, and the streets that grew out of simple trade and travel were all constructed by Shi Huangdi.
  • And the Taj Mahal is the result of the autocratic ruler of the Mughal Emperor of India, Shah Jahan. Those whose lives were deemed insignificant were used as slaves. Those who made the greatest contribution to the state were rewarded greatly.
  • It is thought that he built it to immortalize Mumtaz, his wife. The artist's hands are said to have been severed by Shah Jahan to prevent them from making the same structure again.
  • Historical facts demonstrate that the king was less romantic than considerate. The Taj Mahal was built by 20,000 workers over 20 years.
  • Everyone knows the names of the emperors who built the structures, but no one is eager to learn about the truth behind them.

Therefore, the Great Wall of China and the Taj Mahal are both examples of autocratic structures. The rulers created such marvels in the name of immortality, commemorating a battle victory, dedicating to loved ones, gaining popularity, and employing skilled artisans alongside unskilled labourers.
