Robert Swan is an explorer and activist for better environment at the Poles of Earth.  He has walked to both poles along with his teams.  They stayed there during a winter.  Their ships sank due to melting of icebergs and some other reasons. He has said this famous statement and vowed to save Earth.  His team cleaned the Arctic and Antarctic regions removing all trash cans, plastics and waste.  He and his team almost died on his stay at North Pole as well as South Pole.  Their ship sunk due to increased iceberg melting rate.  They had to be rescued from there.

Seeing the situation at the Poles, it is evident to us that all of us continue to do activities that result in air pollution, greenhouse gases, global warming, and ecosystem imbalance.  That is endangering biodiversity, life at the poles, sea life and surely, but gradually, all people on the Earth.

Robert Swan has founded an organization “2041” and is waiting for the Poles to be liberated from the control of the occupying nations.  Swan has written a book about his experiences and ideas.  Extra care has to be taken for living on and using environment at the Poles.  who will set the guidelines and who will enforce them?

The main reasons could be the activities taken up in the oceans and at the poles, fossil fuels being used for energy and for vehicular commutation.  Everyone seems to bother about one's profit and gains.  It is a normal behaviour.  Many would think and ask some other country, some other organization (voluntary) and some good person will come forward and take care of Earth's ecosystem. Right now and for the last several decades, there has been no control over the ecosystem at the poles.  The sea life, animals and the icebergs have been affected badly.

This is the greatest threat to our Planet Earth.  We need to take the initiative now and use clean processes, clean materials and clean technologies to save Earth.  We need to use the 4 R (Regenerate, Recycle, Reuse, Reduce) technologies.  We need to generate and use energy from Solar, geothermal, atomic and wind power.  Biomass and Biofuels are excellent alternatives for local generations of clean energy.  Use of Ethanol, LPG and CNG as fuels and electricity for commutation will definitely reduce the threat to our dear Mother Planet.

The UNO division for  environment and the countries involved with usage and explorations at the poles must sit together and resolve all the issues.  The big nations must oblige the requests of other countries and mother nature.  Welfare of humanity and biodiversity must be kept at higher priority than their own selfish motives.  There should be guidelines set for using the land at the poles.  There should be a neutral team representations from many countries to supervise the use of the land and ecosystem at the poles.  Ecosystem at one location of Earth affects the ecosystem at the other regions.  We are slow to respond to environment and the needs of Earth.

THIS IS MY PLANET, and SO I SHALL SAVE IT.
