Answer:

given, F=50N

the angle made with the horizontal is 30degrees

horizontal component of force will be Fcos30

=50√3/2=25√3N

vertical component of force will be Fsin30

=50/2=25N

The magnitudes of the horizontal and the vertical components of the force by a vector diagram are  25\sqrt{3} N and 25N

Given:

A grass roller is pulled by a force of 50 N and the handle makes an angle of 30 degrees with the horizontal.

To find:

The magnitudes of the horizontal and the vertical components of the force

Solution:

The force of 50 N i.e., F = 50N

The vector diagram is shown below

30 degrees is the angle formed with the horizontal, i.e., ∅ = 30°

Thus, Fcos30 will be the horizontal component of force.

Magnitude of the horizontal component  =\frac{50\sqrt{3} }{2}

                                                                       = 25\sqrt{3} N

Thus, Fsin30 will be the vertical component of force.

Magnitude of the vertical component =\frac{50}{2}

                                                               =25N

Therefore, The magnitudes of the horizontal and the vertical components of the force by a vector diagram are  25\sqrt{3} N and 25N
