The hanging bob of a simple pendulum is displaced to one extreme position B and then released. It swings towards centre position A and then to the other extreme position C. In which position does the bob have (a) maximum potential energy (b) maximum kinetic energy. Give reasons for your answer

when the pendulum reaches the highest or the extremest position the potential energy become maximum whereas the kinetic energy will be 0
when the the pendulum is in mean position or in equilibrium position the kinetic energy becomes high whereas the potential energy becomes 0
