Given that :-
LCM = 288
HCF = 48
First number = a = 144
Let second number be b .
A / q ,
a * b = LCM * HCF
=> 144 * b = 48 * 288
=> b = 48 * 2 ( 288 / 144 = 2 )
=> b = 96

The product of HCFand LCM is equal to the product of two no.
i.e,
other no.=48×288/144
solve it
Hence the answer obtain is 96
