let one no be a

let other no be b

a+b = 60

a×b = 864

a= 60-b

so,

b(60-b) = 864

60b - b² = 864

b² - 60b + 864 = 0

we get

b= 24 or 36

if b= 24,

a= 36

if b= 36,

a= 24

Thus the 2 numbers are 24 and 36
