The other number is 52

Given:

The HCF and LCM of two numbers are 13 and 156 respectively

One of the number is 39

To Find:

The 2nd number

Solution:

Given HCF of 2 numbers = 13

LCM of 2 number = 156

One of the number is 39 and let x be the 2nd number

Note: If a and b are two positive number then the product of LCM(a, b) and HCF(a, b) is equals to the product of 2 numbers

⇒ Product of 2 numbers = LCM × HCF

⇒ 39 × x   = 156 × 13

⇒ 39x = 2028

⇒ x = 2028/39 = 52

Therefore, the other number is 52
