Answer:

  • let the numbers are x and y
  • x+y=24

  • x×y=45×3=135

  • therefore

(x - y) {}^{2}  = (x + y) {}^{2}  - 4xy \\ (x - y) {}^{2}  = 24 {}^{2}  - 4 \times 135 \\ (x - y) =  \sqrt{36}  \\ (x - y) = 36

hey there!!!

Let the two no. be x and y

their lcm =3

hcf=45

=> x+y=24

=> y= 24 - y ----------(1)

we know that :

=> LCM×HCF = xy

=> 3×45 = x(24-x)

=> 135 = 24x - x²

=> x² -24x +135 = 0

this is quadratic equation...

=> x² -9x - 15x + 135 = 0

=> x(x-9) -15(x-9) = 0

=> (x-9)(x-15) = 0

we get x = 15 , y = 9

so their difference is x-y = 15 - 9 = 6 ans
