The HCF of Two numbers is 24

The LCM of them is 1440

One of the numbers is 120

TO FIND :- The other number

SOLUTION

HCF × LCM = Product of Two numbers

Let two numbers be x and y

Formula can be written as ;

HCF(x,y) × LCM(x,y) = x × y

Now Given one of the number is 120 = x

1440 × 24 = 120 × y

=> 120y = 34,560

=> y = 288

Hence the other number is 288

VERIFICATION

LCM of 228 and 120 = 1440

HCM of 228 and 120 = 24

and

24 × 1440 = 288 × 120

=> 34,560 = 34,560

Hence LHS = RHS, our answer is correct.
