The heat evolved in the following reation
2H₂ (g) + O₂ (g) → 2H₂O (I), ΔH = -484 kJ
to produce 9 g of water is

In producing 2moles of H2O, i.e., in producing 36gm of water, heat evolved = -484 kJ


So in producing 1gm of water, heat evolved = -484/36 kJ


Now, in producion of 9gm of water, heat evolved must be = (-484/36)×9


= -121kJ
