The heat generated is 5.4 x 104 J when a
potential difference of 50 volts is applied to a
coil. Find the current in the coil when passed
for 3 minutes to generate this heat.

Explanation:

heat generated = 5.4 × 10⁴J

V=50V

current passed for 3min=180s

V=W/Q

Q=W/V

Q=5.4×10⁴J/50V

Q=54×10³J/50V

Q=9×10²J/V = 9×10²C

I=Q/t

I=9×10²/180s

I=5A

current flowing form the coil is 5A
