The height and the base of the right angled triangle are 20sq cm and 21 sq cm.What is the length of the hypotenuse?

LET A RIGHT ANGLE ∆ABC. Which hypotenuse is AC.

Given,

AB = BC = X cm.

Now applying Pythagoras theorem.

P²+B²=H²

AB² + BC² = AC²

X² + X² = 20²

2X² = 400

X = √200 = 10√2

Hence AB = BC = 10√2

NOW AREA OF ∆ABC= 1÷2×BASE × HIGHT

ar(∆ABC) = 1/2×10√2× 10√2

= 200÷2 = 100 cm²

So area of given triangle is 100cm².
