Step-by-step explanation:
LET A RIGHT ANGLE ∆ABC. Which hypotenuse is AC.
Given,
AB = BC = X cm.
Now applying Pythagoras theorem.
P²+B²=H²
AB² + BC² = AC²
X² + X² = 20²
2X² = 400
X = √200 = 10√2
Hence AB = BC = 10√2
NOW AREA OF ∆ABC= 1÷2×BASE × HIGHT
ar(∆ABC) = 1/2×10√2× 10√2
= 200÷2 = 100 cm²
So area of given triangle is 100cm².
