Answer:

height =10cm

radius =7cm

the area of base area =πr^2h

=22÷7×7^2×10

22÷7×49×10

now cancel 7 and 49 we will get

22×7×10

=1540

curved surface area

=2πrh

=2×22÷7×7×10

=now we need to cancel 7 and 7 we will get

=2×22×10

=44×10

=440

difference between them is 1540-440

=1100cm^3

Given:

The height of the right circular cylinder is 10 cm and the base radius is 7 cm

To Find:

Find the difference between the base area and the curved surface area

Step-by-step explanation:

  • In the question a cylinder of radius 7cm and a height of 10 cm is given .
  • The curved surface area of a cylinder  portion is 2\pi r\times h where r is the radius of the cylinder and h is the height of the cylinder.
  • The area of base of a cylinder is 2\pi r^{2} where r is the radius of the cylinder.
  • Then , the difference of the base area and the curved surface area will be

=2\pi rh-2\pi r^{2} \\=2\pi r(h-r)\\=2\pi \times 7\times (10-7)\\=2\pi \times 7 \times 3\\=132 cm^{2}

The difference will be of 132 square centimeter.
