Let the total score x.

According to the Question,

It is given that, The highest score in an inning was 3/11 of the total score ( x ) and the next highest was 3/10 of the remaining.

Also,

The Difference between these two scores was 24 runs.

⇒ Highest Score₁ = 3x / 11 ...(1)

Similarly,

⇒ Highest Score₂ = 3/10 { remaining score }

⇒ Highest Score₂ = 3/10 { x - 3x/11 }

⇒ Highest Score₂ = 3/10 × 8x/11

⇒ Highest Score₂ = 24x / 110 ...(2)

Now,

⇒ Difference between the scores = 24

⇒ (1) - (2) = 24

⇒ ( 3x / 11 ) - (24x / 110) = 24

⇒ (30x - 24x) / 110 = 24

⇒ 6x = 24 × 110

⇒ x = 4 × 110

x = 440

Since, The total score was taken as x,

Therefore, The total score was 440.

Let, the total score be x.

Given, highest score in an inning was 3/11 of the score x.

Next highest was 3/10 of remained.

Difference between 2 scores are 24 runs.

Highest score (1) = 3x/11 --------(1)

Now, Highest score (2) = 3/10

= 3/10 ( x - 3x/11 )

= 3/10 × 8x/11

= 3×8/10×11

= 24x/110 ---------(2)

Now,

Here, the difference of the runs = 24.

→ 1 - 2 = 24

→ (3x/11) - (24x/110) = 24

→ (30x/24x)/10 = 24

→ 6x = 24× 110

→ x = 4 × 110

→ x = 440

•°• The total score was 440.
