Force is 13N  if horizontal and vertical components of a force is 5N and 12N

Explanation:

Let say Net force is   F N making angle θ  with Horizontal axis

Horizontal Component = FCosθ N

Vertical Component = FSinθ   N

Horizontal Component = 5 N

Vertical Component = 12 N

FCosθ = 5

FSinθ = 12

Squaring both & adding

=> F²Cos²θ +  F²Sin²θ = 5² + 12²

=> F²(Cos²θ +  Sin²θ) = 25 + 144

=> F² (1) = 169

=> F²   = 13²

=> F = 13

Force is 13N
