There they stimulate release of anterior pituitary hormones, growth hormone, which stimulates cell division, protein synthesis, and growth in all cells; thyroid-stimulating hormone, which prompts the thyroid gland to release thyroxine and triiodothyronine, which regulate metabolism, adrenocorticotropic hormone.
