Basically 6-9 groups dont form hydrides and hence it is called the hydride gap. The inability of the elements in the 7th, 8th & 9th groups of the periodic table to form hydrides is called hydride gap. Group No.7,8,9th donot form compounds with hydrogen. Thus this gap is called hydride gap.
