The value of pH=-log(1x10 -8)=-(-8)=8.

The pH of the solution is 1x10 -8 and is basic in type.

Since the pH of the solution is 8 then the OH of the solution is 14-8=6.

Since pOH is less than pH therefore it indicates that the concentration of the hydroxyl ions is more than the concentration of the Hydrogen ions.

Therefore, the solution is basic in type.

If the concentration of hydrogen ions is high in the solution then the solution would have been acidic.
