We know that in right angled triangle

(base)^2+(prep)^2=(hypo)^2

(5)^2+(prep)^2=(13)^2

(prep)^2=169–25=144

prep =12 cm.

Area of triangle = prep.× base/2

= 12 cm. × 5 cm./2

=30 cm^2 , Answer
