a can be 8cm then b = 6cm
OR a can be 6cm then b = 8cm

hypotenuse = 10 cm
one side = x (say)
other side = x + 2
therefore
10^2 = x^2 + (x+2)^2
100 = x^2 + x^2 + 4x + 4
100 = 2x^2 + 4x + 4
50 = x^2 + 2x + 2
x^2 + 2x - 48 = 0
x^2 +8x - 6x -48 = 0
x( x + 8) -6 (x+ 8) = 0
(x-8) (x-6) = 0
either x=6 / x= 8
now the two sides are 6 and 8
perimeter = 10+ 6 +8 = 24
