The hypotenuse of a right angled triangle is 1 m less than twice the shortest side.
If the third side is 1 m more than the shortest side, then find the sides of the triangle.​

Answer:

Let the shortest side be x ,

then Hypotenuse = 2x-1 and other side = x+1

By Pythagoras theorem,

4x%5E2+-8x+%2B1+=+x%5E2%2B1%2B2x+%2Bx%5E2

2x%5E2+-6x+=+0

2x(x-3)=0

x-3=0

x=3

therefore the side of the triange are x,x+1, 2x-1 => 3,4,5
