Given:

  • hypotenuse of the triangle i. e. 10cm
  • Length of one side of the triangle i.e. 6cm

To Find:

  • length of the third side.

Solution:

  • let's hypotenuse = h
  • let the second side = a
  • let the third side = b

According to Pythagorean theorem,

(a)² + (b)² = (h)²

⟹ (a)² + (6)² = (10)²

⟹ a² = 10² - 6²

⟹ a² = 100 - 36

⟹ a² = 64

⟹ a = √64

⟹ a = 8

The length of the third is 8cm.

Given that H = 10cm

And one of the side is 6 cm ...

We have to find the third side..

The triangle is a right angled

so, by applying pythagorean theorem....

10^2 = 6^2 + X^2 ( X is any side)

100 = 36 + X^2

X^2 =  64

X = √64

X = 8 cm

Hope it helps you (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
