mean is the average value between two numbers or values.

to find a rational number between two rational numbers we actually take the mean value of the two numbers.

for ex. mean of 10 and 12 is \frac{10 + 12}{2} = 11

for ex. QN: find a rational number between 19 and 11

            ANS:  \frac{19 + 11}{2} = 30/2 = 15.

here the mean of two rational numbers, is the rational number between two rational numbers.
