The IFCI was started in the year 1948.  The Industrial Finance Corporation of India is a Statutory Corporation that aims to bring long term finance and desired medium to the industry.  

After repeal of the  Act in the year 1993, IFCI turned into a Public Limited Firm registered under the most popular Companies Act, 1956.
