Since we know that for the plane mirror the angle of incidence is the angle of reflection and if we extend the AC and NC line then there will be the angles formed below also hence the angle formed by A will also be i and B will be also i due to interior opposite angles.

At the point where the AB touches the principle axis be P and the angle will be 90 and the two triangles formed by the ACP and BCP will be similar hence we can say that AO will be equal to BO. Hence, proved  image is as far behind the mirror as the object is in the front of the mirror​.
