Let us say A 's income is 8x and B's 5x.

A's expenditure 13y to B's 7y.

Then 8x —13y = 3000 = 5x — 7y

Or 3x =6y ==> x =2y. …(1)

So substituting (1) in 8x —13y = 3000

16y — 13y = 3000

y = 1000

Expenditure of B is 7y = ₹ 7000
