the Indian constitution is carefully drafted so that it is accepted by all the members of drafting constitution who come from different backgrounds. so, it need not be change. thus it's rigid. but, it contains suitable amendments that can make change in the constitutional laws. so that's flexible also.

A Rigid Constitution is one which stands above the laws of the country. It's the highest judicial authority. To make amendments in this type of a constitution requires a two third majority in the parliament to pass the bill.
A flexible constitution is one which requires a significantly smaller majority to pass bills to make amendments.
The Indian Constitution is called both Rigid and Flexible as certain important laws are passed in accordance to a rigid constitution and others are passed in accordance to a flexible constitution.
