Answer: D. Shakuntala Devi
About her:
Shakuntala Devi, born in Bangalore, was born on 4th of November, 1929. At the age three, she played cards with her father and it was discovered by the family that she was special while remembering numbers. By the age of five, she became an expert in resolving mathematical queries. Ms. Devi showcased her mathematical gifts around the globe, at multiple colleges, several theaters and even on radio as well as television.
The incident:
In the year 1977, she visited the Southern Methodist University located in Dallas. She extracted the twenty-third root of a number having two-hundred-and-one digits. The time she took was miraculously insane- 50 seconds only. On the other hand, the Univac supercomputer took sixty-two seconds in solving the same problem.
