Ammonia is manufactured by combining nitrogen and hydrogen in process called as Haber process.
Hydrogen is obtained by reacting natural gas -methane- with steam,or through the cracking of oil.
Nitrogen is obtained by burning hydrogen in air. When hydrogen is burned is air oxygen combines with hydrogen and releases nitrogen
Then nitrogen and hydrogen react together
under temperature of 450℃, atmospheric pressure of about 200 and an iron catalyst.
Reaction takes place is,
N2(g) + 3H2(g) - 2NH3(g).
