If the essay is supposed to be an argumentative one the there can be two ways to interpret this.
Pros of technology:
1. People living far from each other can communicate easily without having to wait for hours before receiving letters as in olden days.
2. Video calling facility has further brought people closer. people living in different countries can talk to each other sitting face to face.
3. Other gadgets save time so people can always have some time to spend with their loved ones.

Cons:
1. Gadgets such as mobile phones, tablets and, laptops have proved to be an addiction. Teenagers tend to spend rather waste most of their time on their phones either to play games to chat with friends on social media.
2. Earlier at the dinner table, people used to talk to their families. but now we can only hear the cling cling of phones and the tick tock of people texting each other.
