Given:-

  • Initial velocity (u) = 10m/s

  • Retardation (a) = 2m/s²

  • time (n) = 5th second

To Find:-

  • Distance moved by the body in 5th second

Solution:-

By using this formula

Sn = u +a/2(2n-1)

Substitute the value we get

→ S5 = 10 + (-2)/2 (2×5 -1)

→ S5 = 10 - 1(10-1)

→ S5 = 10 -1(9)

→ S5 = 10 -9

→ S5 = 1m

The distance covered by the body in 5th second is 1 metre.
