The inlet pipe can fill a tank in 3 hours while the outlet pipe can empty the full tank in 8 hours. How long will it talce for the tank to fill up if the inlet and the outlet pipes are opened simultaneously?

In 1 hour inlet pipe fills=1/6

Outlet pipe fills in 1 hour = 1/3

Add them.
