Answer:

 \red { Area \: of \: Paper \: required} \green {= 1740 \: cm^{2} }

Step-by-step explanation:

 \blue { Dimensions \:0f \:an \: open \:metal \:box}

 Length (l) = 25 \:cm , \: breadth (b) = 18\:cm ,\\height (h) = 15\:cm

 Area \: of \: Paper \: required \\= Total \:surface \: area - top \:area \\= 2(lb+bh+hl) - lb \\= 2( 25\times 18 + 18 \times 15 + 25 \times 15 ) - 25 \times 18 \\= 2( 450 +  270 +375 ) - 450 \\= 2\times 1095 - 450 \\= 2190 - 450 \\= 1740 \: cm^{2}

Therefore.,

 \red { Area \: of \: Paper \: required} \green {= 1740 \: cm^{2} }

total surface area of cuboid length =25 cm

breadth=18cm

height=15 cm

area of paper required = total surface area - top area

= 2(lb+bh+hl) - lb

=2(25*28+18*15+25*15)-25*1

=2(450+270+375) - 450

= 2* 1095-450

= 1740 cm²
