Given :

Instantaneous coordinates of a particle are x = (4t) m and y = (8t²) m .

To Find :

The acceleration of the particle .

Solution :

We know , acceleration is equal to double differentiation of position of particle .

Therefore , acceleration towards x direction is :

a_x=\dfrac{d^2(4t)}{dt^2}=\dfrac{d(4)}{dt}=0\ m/s^2

Also , acceleration towards y direction is :  

a_y=\dfrac{d^2(8t^2)}{dt^2}=\dfrac{d(16t)}{dt}=16\ m/s^2

Therefore , the net acceleration of particle is 16\ m/s^2 towards y direction .
