the intensity level of the roaring of a lion is 100 dB.

It has given that intensity of sound produced by the roaring of a lion at a distance of 5 miles is 0.01 W/m².

we have to calculate the intensity of level in decibel.

using formula, sound intensity level = 10log_{10}\left(\frac{I}{I_0}\right)

here, I = intensity of sound produced by the roaring of the lion , I_0 = threshold hearing intensity level.i.e., 10¯¹² W/m²

as I = 0.01 W/m² , I_0 = 10¯¹² W/m²

now sound intensity level = 10log_{10}\left(\frac{10^{-2}}{10^{-12}}\right)

= 10log_{10}10^{10}

= 10 × 10

= 100 dB

Therefore, the intensity level of the roaring of a lion is 100 dB.
