huh1) Mrs hall enquired twice whether she could take his hat and coat in order to dry them. without adequate response from the stranger she thought that her attempts at conversation had to be better timed . she tried again when she is formed lunch but to no avail. later she opens up on the stranger almost already and catches a glimpse of is completely bandaged to face . when he asked about bringing his luggage from bramblehurst station Mrs hall tried developing the conversation , putting in anecdotes in between answers to his questions. however, The Stranger put a stop to that by rudely sending her on an errand to get him matches.
2) Mrs hall was telling the stranger about Tom her sister's son who had cut his arm on a scythe by tripping on it in the hay field . to the information that time was tied up with bandages for 3 months following his operation the strangers reaction was a harsh , cynical laughter .
sorry friend I don't know the answer of third one but I think this will be helpful to you
